Hi Guys

i'm looking for old skirting to go with my existing skirting boards.
I had been told of a reclaim yard in Birkenhead,
When I went it does not do skirting unfortunatley
Does anyone know of any yards not too far from merseyside where I may be able to get hold of something
I went to a carpenters yard a few weeks back.
And he wanted 30 quid for a piece of skirting he made
It was 7 feet long and 5 inches high
So getting some made is not an option
I will have to just use the horrible stuff they have in B&Q and the likes

heeelllooo bluescouse and welcome :D :D :D :D

most of the cost is the setting up costs so your £30 could be set up £20 and £5 per m

have you tried your local timber yard!!!

of you only need a small amount look at stripping a small room and fixing new matching skirting in the whole room

also most larger skirtings are made from 2 parts so look at joining say a bit of 5x1" and a bit of 3" achatrave that would give you 7.5"skirting

Thanks for the reply guys
Well i suppose the avarage Joe like me may not uderstand the costs
But if you seen the skirting I was after
I think you would understand why I thought 30 quid was a bit steep
It is not over elaborate at all
Straight forward angled head with a slight lip
But thanks for the tips and also the links
