I was planning to replace the skirting boards. While removing the existing skirting, some of the wall plaster came away with it (the wall is solid, not plasterboard). I later realised that the skirting had been fixed using a no-nails adhesive.

What is the best way to repair this damage? Can I use ready-made Polycell Polyfilla? I’m a complete DIY beginner and have never done any plastering before.

I’ve attached a couple of photos for reference. I’d really appreciate any advice or suggestions.

my thoughts
its come away almost better than you could expect on average;)
normal is big chunks back to brick in several areas
disaster is massive chunks back to brick inches to feet above although more expected on some walls:giggle:
just put the new stuff on with no nails[as whats there must be solid as it still in place ]
then filler to any visible gaps above the skirting
