Hi.

I have renewed all the skirtings and archatraves in my new house and am ready to paint them. I want a 'matt look' rather than the typical gloss sheen and am wondering if anyone can recommend the best paint to use to achieve this? I have read plenty of articles suggesting satinwood or eggshell but am just looking for some much appreciated advice?

Thanks :D

Satin is a mid sheen finish (40% sheen I think).

If you want something which looks more matt, you need an eggshell (20% sheen) and I recommend Little Greene's Intelligent eggshell or Farrow and Ball's estate eggshell. Go for water based if it's inside, with an appropriate w/b crylic undercoat.
