I am about to have a slate floor fitted in my kitchen.
The worry I have is whether to remove the skirting boards and kickboards prior to laying the floor or not.
If I fix the skirtings after will I have unsightly gaps due to the uneveness of the floor?

when laying uncalibrated slate i alway remove all tiles from boxes and group together in order of thickness ( time consuming but worth it ) laying the thickest first and gradually working towards the thinner tiles this way your floor will look a lot more even and skirting and kickboards can be removed without the worry of to much a gap when replaced, also silicone any gaps with clear silicone or same colour as grout ;)
