Is it expensive?

I am contemplating using tiled skirting in my new kitchen / orangery area to match the basalt slate effect floor tiles.

The quote from the tiling company came back at £450 which I can only assume must be due to the floor area (44m²) - in reality only 12.8 m of edge needs to be skirted due to kitchen units, doors, bifolds etc - that would work out about £35 a metre at that price

Is this a realistic price? have they made a mistake? - or are they trying to 'do' me!

Any advice on the subject appreciated! :

Thanks

Have a look at doing it yourself and see if it's worth it. Find it, buy it, maybe go back when it's been delivered the he shop, buy the adhesive, fit it, grout it.
Not saying it's a good or bad price, just that if you feel it's expensive, price it up yourself.

Building project manager came last night and I quizzed him on it! - He didn't really seem to have checked the amount of work to be done very accurately. He said he will check it and make sure the price is correct

He's a good lad, but got so much work on at the moment! - lucky in some ways I guess with a lot of people struggling for work just now...
