Slate tiling on plywood

Does anybody know if it would be advisable, im sure it is but the slate tiles are very heavy. Im using unibond flexible wood adhesive for the bathroom floor slate tiles but was wondering could i use this on the boxing in I have ceated for hiding pipes (This is plywood). Or is there any particular type of adhesive I could use for this.

I hate unibond gear .. FACT ..the best mud/adhesive mix is bal gear ..

Go to a local topps tiles or local tile shop an get your powdered mix from them
they will be dead helpful an give loads of advice ...
