Hi Guys,
I am currently gearing up to my first big project of the year which is going to be a shed\workshop at the bottom of my garden.
Currently i am looking to purchase a compound mitre saw and had pretty much decided on the Erbauer one from Screwfix @ £129 inc VAT. That was until today when i came across the DeWalt DW707 with stand at what i thought was a really good price.
I do quite a lot of DIY where this would come in handy not just for the shed but in the future, the max cut depth on the DW707 is 20mm less but that doesn't really concern me as i also have a DW743 flip saw for the bigger sheet stuff.
Details of the two are below:
DeWalt DW707 Crosscut Mitre Saw
http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?cId=101401&ts=68025&id=31508#
The best price i have found for this so far is £199+VAT including the DE3493 leg stands which cost about £80 on their own.
Erbauer ERB255GS 10" Sliding Compund Mitre Saw
http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?cId=101401&ts=68191&id=21263
This is £129 but doesn't come with a stand which i would have to make\buy separately.
I suppose my question is whether it is worth spending the extra on the DeWalt over the Erbauer? Any good or bad experiences? I had previously identified the Erbauer saw due to cost but having come in £300 under budget on the UPVC windows i could now add the £105 to the cost of the Erbauer and end up with a really good tool as opposed to one that does the job.
Any inputs\suggestions welcome
Cheers,
Jon.
