Hey there, build a small garden wall , put a scratch coat on and now time to roughcast it, just a couple of Qs,

Is it best to put coping stones on before or after roughcast?

Can anyone recommend a pre mixed coating that will ensure i have correct mix of base coat?

Thanks

Always put the coping on first,,, then scratch/roughcast.
With this type of job,,, you would normally mix your own. For your job, use plastering sand and portland cement,,, 4 sand to 1 of cement. Use a waterproofer/plasticiser in the mixing water. The top coat would be 5 to 1,, again using w/proofer/plast'. For best results, use a mixer.
