Hello, I have bought a property which has a very small Lofthatch 14 x 14 inches situated in the lounge . I believe it was made this small because of the joist which is running along side of it on one side and no room on the other side as it it too close to the roof. To get access I am thinking of extending it so it would therefore end up 14ninches wide x 28 inches long which would be ample to get up there. Anyone else had this issue ?

Could it be located in another room further away from the edge of the roof ?
