smeg cooker and burning smell?

Hi there,

We have a smeg freestanding fan oven and hob. Yesterday when i turned it on there is a strong burning smell and again today. Similar smell to the 1st time you use it, or burning cleaning products.

The smell seems to be coming fromdown the back of the cooker against the wall rather than inside.

All lights work, settings work, it heats fine, clock works....

Any ideas what it is?

I once changed the heating element so im ok to get at the back and order/change a part if needed. Just wanted to know what it probs will be befor i lug it all out!

I think I would get the back off ASAP & have a look before it goes bang or cathes fire.
