I have a leak where the pipes which lead from the water softener control on the inside of the dishwasher join the water softener. It looks like an O ring washer will cure it. However I need to either free this assembly or the water softener assembly so that the pipes and the water softener can be separated. Does anyone know if the plastic ring around the water softener control can be unscrewed or popped out. I've tried unscrewing it but it won't budge.

thanks

Andrew

The plastic ring on the inside does in fact unscrew with difficulty, then you can lift it off the water softener and replace both o rings.
