smeg washer/dryer feed problem?

I am bought an intergrated smeg washer/dryer for my extension and the plumber ran a hot and cold feed into the extension for me. The washer only has one feed on the back. Do I use the hot or the cold?

My dad says that if its the cold one it will cost a fortune to heat the water up to the right temperature. the book doesnt tell you which feed to use?

All new machines are cold fill only.

Not hot supply is needed.
