Hello

The flat underneath generates lots of cooking smells and moisture coming into my flat. My kitchen floor is just wood floor laid on joists which are on top of this underneath flat.

Can I add insulation such as kingspan or it is better to put another layer of plasterboard on top of the plaster board that forms the underneath flat ceiling ?.

Will this cause a moisture trap underneath ?.

thanks

jc

There's no reason to suspect that moisture will become an issue here - I wouldn't go for extra plaster board though.
Pay particular attention to gaps in the skirting board area and you'll see an immediate improvement.
