Hi all,

First post, but Im after some advice please! Got a second hand smokecloak unit with the intent of putting it in my workshop.

I thought it would be plug and play but I was wrong! It has 2 interface boards with various inputs / outputs and I'm looking for some info about what does what.

A manual would be great! If anyone can sged any light on it of has a pdf kicking about Id be grateful.

Hopefully ive attached a pic, fingers crossed!

Thanks, james

Welcome to DIYnot! :)

I'd be inclined to contact Smokecloak/MSS Professional directly. I've always found them very helpful. They will suggest that you get some new fluid...

I'm not sure about the model in the picture but they usually use two inputs - one to 'arm' the unit and the second to fire it. We would normally connect the first to a 'system set' output on the intruder alarm and the second to the 'confirmed alarm' output. There is also an input for their own smoke detector which is used to switch the unit off when the room is full of smoke. You could do worse than have a really close look at the terminals to see which ones have been used!

Thanks.

Not sure how old it is, when it was taken out some 'genius' took all the wires out of the interface board plug connectors, so Ive no real way of knowing when it was made.

I emailed smokecloak and they said that they didnt want to tell me as the info was classified incase i was trying to use it to override a system as an intruder! Didnt ask me to buy any more fluid though ;)

Will try the direct approach and call them - found the tech managers number online.

Thanks for all your help, will post anything I learn in case it helps anyone else.

Sorry for the delay, Ive been ill :( back in the workshop now so I took some pics.

Hope these throw a bit of light on it.....

Just got a reply from the people at smokecloak.
