Certainly not, where you chose to respect the silence is not an issue. My distaste is for those who can't be bothered to do so at all.
It wasn't my intention to start somethng of a national debate when I posted my feelings, but the resulting replies have made interesting reading with some illustrating the changes in people's attitudes.
