OK, what are the readings? Loop impedance centre of ring final minus the look impedance at the consumer unit will give us the prospective volt drop, OK not quite that easy, need Installation Method, Rating factor for grouping Cg, Rating factor for ambient temperature Ca, Design current for circuit Ib, etc to get an accurate valve.

The formula is in BS 7671, but I found far too easy to make an error, so I built a JavaScript program to work it out, so I could test it with known figures, once one has tested a load of ring finals one gets to know when one is on the edge, so tend not to work out volt drop unless it seems likely to be on the edge.

Secondly, if it is a Ring it would be a Ring Final not a Ring Main.
