Sockets breaker is for both floors. Can it be split?

I agree with @EFLImpudence and I note you can buy socket testers with a loop test, which will show if better than 1.9 Ω but the limit is around 1.4 Ω so all it does is give a false sense of security. The testers were clearly designed for the continental radial system, not the British ring final.

However we are also told we should have an EICR done on change of occupant. I had a house buyer report done which did report on the condition of the electrical installation, however I don't think the surveyor really had the knowledge to carry out the inspection, as he clearly made mistakes.

It did not worry me, but I can see the danger of having a report which tries to include items of which the guy doing the report has no idea of the dangers involved.

Yes, it's a bit odd. Whether it is a ring or radial circuit is obviously irrelevant, but I'm surprised that we're not seeing "socket testers" which indicate whether the Zs is less than the maximum for a 32A circuit.

It's entirely up to a prospective buyer to decide what (if any) sort of surveys/inspections they want to commission, so they could obviously have a 'proper EICR' done if they so wished. However, I'm not sure what that has got to do with the current discussion!!

Kind Regards, John
