Soffit venting- opinion before they come back in the morning?

Hi all,
I’m having new guttering put on and soffit and fascia replaced.
The roofer has put a solid soffit on and when I questioned him about ventilation he said that the roofing membrane is breathable so it doesn’t need venting.
This is a 2m span next to a bay window on a roof with loft conversion.
Opinions please.

Oh and previously it didn’t have a soffit on, you could see the roof trusses/joists coming out of the brickwork.
