We're having the house re-rendered. House was build in the 1920's and the soffits currently butt up to the original render.

Company have come out to take off the old render and advised as the new render (PRB system) is going to be thinner than the old render type there will be a gap between the soffit edge and the newly rendered wall.

Is there a way around this gap without taking the soffit board off and replacing with another piece 10mm or so wider?

A black J trim could potentially be slipped on the soffit before rendering, and then slid over to close the gap afterwards.

Cheers @^woody^

I'll have a gander at them.

I'll have a look at taking a bit of soffit off tomorrow, think the wall end is pinned to a batton against the wall so could poss loosen it off the batton, fit the J trim and pin back up again.
