 Please help with any advice. Have just resited our WC to other side of bathroom. The soil pipe goes through 2 bends of 90 degrees and has a reasonable fall on the pipe, length of pipe total about 4m. However, starting using it less than 2 weeks ago and it has totally blocked whole length of pipe - spend most of last night clearing out unspeakable cr** from pipes! Do you think giving the pipe a bigger fall will help or are we stuffed with these two bends. Should I try to get corners with a shallower bend.

Is it possible the cistern isn't flusing enough water through.

Am I going to have to bite the bullet and invest in a saniflow, we can't take the bathroom apart again as have spend the last 5 weekends getting it finished!!

Any advise would be sooooooo helpful!

I suspect thats the problem , I dont fit them , but i do design installs .

A few thoughts ..........

can you not alter the last 90 to a couple of 45's or similar ?

If you have an excessive fall on the pipe , the solids can be left stranded mid way .

Another thought , would an air inlet valve at the extreme top end of the soil pipe help .

thanks for advice. The fall isn't too much, pretty sure of that. Think will try to locate 45 degree bends for waste and pray! Also, make sure the cistern is filling as much as possible to get best water flow through.

Dont want to be a spoilsport am not 100% sure but a think in our neck of the woods your not permitted to have a saniflow if this is your one and only crapper in the house .
They were designed by the devil himself any way flaming useless avoid!!!!!!!!!

We have got some long radius bends to try instead and will see how it goes. We have another WC in the cloakroom so could use Saniflow if had to - however, your warning is duly noted Petetheleak. Aren't they really noisy too?

Yes can be .no are noisy i replaced one just the other week the sponge like float valve inside has a habit of sticking .
A sharp kick usually does the trick if not lid off hand in and ughh.In my experience they only last for a couple o years A would try other radius bends and as other post says sometimes to much run can leave solids in pipe.
Let us know what you do.

We replaced the bends with long radius bends and upped the fall of the pipe. It is a total of 3m with 2 bends - we have a fall of about 5". Worked at start - checking at drain to see how things were flushing - however, by day 3 the toilet is blocked again, which took less time to block than before!

The toilet is new and the siphon in the cistern is a bit poxy - only half fills the cistern at its max setting. We are wondering whether there just isn't enough water going down the pipe to be effective, and as soon as there is a solid it can't cope.

Having spent so much blo***y money and time on this we are getting a plumber round to advise before we do anything else. Will let you know how it goes.
