I’ve attached a photo of my assembled Geberit steel wall-hung toilet frame. The 90-degree waste pipe is connected and has a good downward slope toward the vertical soil pipe.
My question is about the front connection, the one that currently has the yellow cap fitted to stop smells. This is where the toilet’s main outlet pipe will eventually connect. The pan connector has a rubber seal on the toilet side, and the other end is just a straight pipe that pushes into this front opening once the yellow cap is removed.
To test the setup, I removed the yellow cap and ran water in using a hose. I noticed that some water slightly flows back toward the front opening unless I push the hose in quite far.
I’m wondering if this front connection is supposed to have a slight downward slope as well. I’ve installed it using the supplied brackets, which hold everything firmly in place and don’t really allow for any slope adjustment.
Is this slight backflow normal? In real use, the toilet outlet will be sealed with a gasket, so I assume water shouldn’t leak out, but seeing water move back toward the opening made me wonder if there’s any risk of small leaks later on.
Hope that explanation makes sense.
