i am fitting a new bathroom. the vent pipe currently goes up the middle of a wall and i need to move it to the corner of the room, i have tried to pull the conectors apart but they stuck solid, any ideas on how i can seperate them?
I had to fit a new stack section immedietly below the W/C branch when I moved the bath & hand basin; I finally got it to separate using a car trolley jack & a large block of wood.
Try spraying some PTFE or silicon based lubricant into the gap where the rubber ring seal is. Then wiggle and twist (rather than pull) this as much as you can until it gradually works itself free. It might take a long time and repeated applications of lubricant, but you'll get there in the end.
Failing that you can break away the plastic retaining ring at the mouth of the socket to allow the rubber ring seal to be pulled out. You'll then have to replace the damaged plastic retaining ring or even the whole fitting.
