Hello All

I may have made a cock up. I installed a cast iron soil stack externally but think i may have done a boo boo.

I came out of the wall droppped vertically about 4 meters then goes horizotally about 2 meters. then it falls to the drain near enough.

My fear is the big ones and paper will fall at a diffrent speed vertically to the water.
when it hits the bend it will thump it and just sit there and build up.

The horizotal bit has not been completed yet I planed on runing 90 - 90.
But it would be possible to run 45-45. I will have an access above the 45 or 90.

Problem is scaffolding is down now. I was asked by the site forman to do it this way, but the buck stops with me as I should have pointed this out, but I think I may have made an error of judgment.

What do you think.

a 6 litre flush will mean 6 kilos of water hammering down a 4m drop to the horizontal. the momentum of that lot will be fine. if any 'big ones' do get stuck the next few 'tinkles' and then a flush will remove any klingons that occur.

if you did what you were asked to by the foreman then surely its his responsibility? if you did it your own way and it didnt work you would be in the doo doo!

i have been in both situations over the years.

If the first 4m drop is in the wet system then it will be fine..

Thanks fellas

I'll have an access on it so I'll be able to check it out.

Thanks

Bod
