apologies if ive posted in the wrong section but this is the closest forum i can find to cover this topic

i got given some solar lights like this.
http://www.thesolarcentre.co.uk/products/Albany_Premium_Solar_Spotlight-766-83.html

The cable from the solar panel to the light is too short for me to have the lights where i want them and the solar panel in a good location to get a good amount of light in order to charge the batteries.
The company dont sell extension cable so i want, if possible to extend the cables myself.

Before i go and cut the existing cable does anyone have an idea of what type of cable it is so i can buy the correct stuff to extend it?

There are no markings on the cable so here's a pic at the plug ends which might help with identifying what ill need.

Thanks

Any ordinary twin flex should do, in terms of voltage and current.

Depending what size the plug is you can get extension cables already made up, eg
http://cpc.farnell.com/Search?storeId=10180&catalogId=15002&langId=69&st=dc+power+extension+cable

or buy the plugs and sockets from eg Maplin if you want to solder up your own. (if they're 2.1 mm this is used for CCTV cameras and screw terminal plugs/sockets are available)

This would avoid cutting the cable and voiding the guarantee.

Thanks Owain for that info.

That save me having to cut the existing cables.
