Solar panels and birds nesting.

I am just watching pigeons, appearing to be making a nest, in the gap between the solar panels, on a neighbours roof, and the panels. Is this a common problem with solar panels?
 
Yep, it certainly is. Installers should fit guards to stop them from nesting there.
 
The red-tailed kites mean birds would not last long if they nested in the solar panels, eggs and chicks would soon be food. I would guess it depends on where you live.

We do have lots of red kites, almost always one circling on the breeze above.

The pigeons appear to be making their way, between roof and panels, which might be a tight space for the larger kite.
