I have a Vokera Linea 28 which has been on the 'hot water' setting all summer and worked fine.
Now it has got colder I have switched it to 'combined heat and water' and the pump does not kick in, despite me switching the time clock to "constant" and turning the stat up to full.
I've has a quick look ( having switched off the power) and both pcb fuses are fine and all connections are good.
I have to confess it has not been serviced since new 5 years ago.
Is there anything obvious that I may have missed, save getting it serviced?
Could it be the pump or maybe the clock not switching on?
Grateful for any advice please?
Thanks
K

Sorry should have mentioned the pump I refer to is the central heating pump and that there is no room thermostat, it is just controlled by the timer clock and boiler stat.

is the pump impeller running free, try giving the pump a tap or removing bleed screw and with a 3mm screwdriver try turning the impeller manually

The Linea 28 is a combi boiler and has ONE pump inside the boiler which operates on both hot water and heating.

If you really do have an EXTERNAL pump then thats a very unusual situation and I would suggest that you will need a very competent engineer who can guess at what the installer was trying to achieve.

When you turn the mode selector knob to the middle (off) does the display go blank or stay lit.

If it stays lit the problem is the knob has snapped inside and the boiler is stuck in hot water mode.

Top tip to all Linea owners. NEVER fiddle with the mode selector knob. ;)

Thanks for the suggestions so far:
The pump I refer to is the one in the boiler, but I'll try to give it a tap or turn it( thinking about it , it has not done the anti frost cycle run for about 10 secs recently)
The pressure is at 1.5 bar so I guess is OK
The display stays the same when I switch over so I don't think the knob is broken

Arggghhhh: just re read the suggestion about the control knob, it stays lit when I switch over so I guess it has snapped off inside. Does anyone know how to replace it please or is there a workaround for the winter that sets it to water and heating?

Worked out how to set it for heating and water by turning the broken stump on the pcb. Thanks for the advice!

You are welcome.

I would replace it with a new one (the new ones don't snap)

Check the other two temperature control knobs as they may have snapped as well

Vokera part No 01005072 (mode selector)
01005073 (temp control)

Back to your original problem!

There is only one pump which is used in both DHW and CH.

Your problem seems to be simply that you have snapped the control knob shaft.

Thanks again for everyone's help and suggestions, I'll order a new part tomorrow

I got it to run for a few seconds after turning the broken shaft but then it stopped, I suspect the switch disconnected as there was no shaft in there to keep it on.

Needless to say, I isolated the appliance first before removing the top pcb and getting at the switch from below the lower pcb.

Both the temp switches are currently ok ( touch wood)!

Hopefully the new switch will solve my problem, this site really is an excellent resource.

Cheers to you all!

£6.50 to get your central heating sounds like the kind of bargain only the internet and frankly genius call by scatmanjohn can offer.

These forums really cheer me up, when the hole in my roof and this money pit of a lemon of a house gets me down :)
