Hi, I need to fix a mirror inside a steam shower enclosure (shiny smooth epoxy plastic type surface) as we broke the original one. Size is 95cm by 25 cm.

I now have another mirror cut to size but don't know which double tape to use to fix it..

The original was fixed with a double sided tape which was a bit spongy (foam type) but very strong.

I've looked into the screwfix catalogue but the double sided tapes there are meant for carpets and wood.

Any advice with correct names/ links would be welcome.
Thanks..

I would use the type or adhesives used by truck body builders to bond body panels to framework.

Sikaflex are a decent brand with a massive range of adhesives; they have various ranges including construction, automotive and marine. They will certainly be able to advise you as to which product is best but I have used a numebr of the automotive products and have had good experiences with sikaflex 252. It comes in a standard mastic tube and bonds most substrates extremely well provided you use the right preparation.

Alternatively you could use a high strength tape like 3M's VHB tape.

3m's VHB sticks like poo to a blanket!

I'd go for silicone sealant too, apart from having to stand there holding it until it dries.

So if you use ss, make some form of wooden props to hold it for 24hrs.
