Southport murderer pleads guilty

Why did the jury have to sit through a lot of the details of the case when he had already pleaded guilty?
I heard that some left as it was too much for them to bear.

Why does the media feel that we now need to know more (previuosly unreleased) details about it all?
WTF do they think we need to see him in a taxi on the way to commit murder for? Are they trying to stoke up tension in the country again?

My reaction was exactly the same. It turned my stomach.

Turned my stomach as well, just hearing some of the details was too much. My heart went out to the 3 little girls and also the surviving girls, and all the parents.
Seeing the video from inside the taxi, I couldn't help feeling for the taxi driver and how he must feel knowing that he brought the killer there.

I hadn't thought of that. OMG. How do you live with that.

This is something I was unaware of. I had always thought that police could easily get hold of your internet history through your ISP. But they are saying that they haven't yet been able to get his search history because Google and Microsoft are based in the USA. So, there may eventually be a motive found:

Or, Plod could be not letting on about their capabilities, to lull other miscreants into a false sense of security?

Their capabilities are far greater than we the public are allowed to know about.

I won't be commenting on how I know that ;)

Would any of the RW posters on here who say he should face capital punishment also say hand on heart they would personally execute this person?

You may say you would, but would you really?

But you joyously encourage others within the prisons he will exist in to end his life...

When it comes down to it anyone who takes a life is equally guilty...

And anyone who disagrees with that is as bad as the convicted murderers they want killed!

I don't believe in capital punishment. However I do believe for those that commit heinous crimes such as this, prison should be an arduous affair for them. By that, I don't mean they should be breaking rocks 23 hours a day and carrying them from a to b then back again. However neither should prison be a place where, after a while, such people learn to cope with it relatively well. Every day should be a reminder to them of what they did, every day. After all, for the parents of the victims, I expect the first thing they will think of on rising most days and the last when going to sleep will be their lost child, probably for the rest of their lives.

In summary, prison should never be a comfortable existence for these people.

Honestly? I would allow the parents an hour with him in a locked room and walk away.

'As a review into the various Prevent failings was published, Dan Jarvis, the security minister, confirmed Rudakubana was now being treated as a "registered terrorist offender".

He told MPs: “The perpetrator has been found guilty of a terrorism-related offence and will therefore be considered as a registered terrorist offender and subject to the associated sentencing procedures and will be treated as a person convicted of an offence under the Terrorism Act.”
