Spalled Concrete fence posts. Can they be repaired? (Ed.)

I have these two concrete posts. They are badly damaged due to lack of repair over the many years.

I don't really want to replace them as it would cost a lot of money.

I have thought of doing a quick replace, of using cement to cover the affected areas, but I want it square/inline with the post.

Is there a technique which means I can cover the post partially with 3 sides of wood and effectively pour in concrete and work my way up?

Or suggest another way of repairing these? Thanks!

Hadn't thought about that. I might just slather on cement and then see what happens.

Unfortunately, that is why the concrete has failed and blown in the first place - because of the corrosion.

The problem here is it looks like you've lost so much of the concrete from the post that it is now significantly weakened.
If we have a particularly bad autumn 'storm' soon with strong winds it could be game over.

You could, of course, try getting some cement to stick to it to make it look tidier, but that's not going to give the post any of its strength back.

Replace is really the only option here.
