Hi all,

Just like to know where I could get some small enclosure for speaker terminals that i could mount *in* my skirting board so that the connectors don't protrude out from it? I don't want the standard wall plate plug socket size, probably just something half that. I can buy the terminals separately and fit them myself its just finding a nice enclosure thats the problem so that the terminals are actually sunk into the skirting board. Something with a clear flip lid would be ideal, so i can stop kids poking around with screwdrivers etc., not essential tho cos *I* don't have kids :).

If you are looking for something that is going to be flush with the surface of the skirting I think you may struggle, as most binding posts are deeper than standard skirting. You could always sink the box into the floor and have a cover on it, similar to those you see in office and shops.

GRC - Loudspeakers themselves usually have a recessed panel set into the back of them; I'd be looking on E-Bay or similar for a cheap & cheerful pair of (white? to match the skirting?) speakers, buy them for (hopefully) a song, and throw the speakers away, keeping the wee panel from the back to mount into your skirting.....

Either that or a scrounge around the local second-hand audio dealers, if you have any, might turn up something suitable. Failing that, just get the cheapest speakers you can find with a suitable panel, and if the terminal panel isn't the right colour for the skirting, give it a respray........

Salem, I've never thought of that, but while skirting boards are off, what a beauty !!
