Hi All

Sorry if this is the wrong forum but hope someone can help me.

I recall reading a while ago about a special curatin rail for use on front doors in narrow hallways that was mounted such that as you opened the door the rail cantilevered back with the door.

The curtain itself could be drawn open/closed as normal.

Though I do not have a front door in a narrow hallway, my problem is that the door is in an 8inch deep recess and on the hinged side there there is no free space to fit a 'normal' rail outside the recess. The other side has free space for the rail overlap but ideally I do not want a curtain covering the available wall space.

Any guidance and advice very welcome.

TIA :)

Hi masona

Erm!!!

No, well kind of. The other side (external) of the front door I have a storm porch, i.e. not a closed in porch. For future plans was to look at getting it 'boxed in'.

:?:

We have a curtain in the porch area to overcome the narrow hall problem like yours I think. Any drawing or photo because my wife is a curtain maker and maybe be able to help you.

Okey dokey

I will grab a picture or two to show the 'problem'. Would be interesting to get some feedback from someone like your wife with experience of making curtains for awkward areas.

I have never tried to include a picture here - is there an advised method or how do I get you to see it/them?

Incidently, where if the UK are you should she be able to help me?

TIA :)
