Hi, do you need to lock speed fit fittings by screwing the fitting down after pushing the pipe in?

Thanks are they at a danger of blowing of if you don't? Also is it a design change having to lock them. Don't remember them having this feature when used them years ago.

Probably different makes. You can also fit collars to prevent tampering

Thanks I have an old speedfit tee that one of the branches on it I want to connect to copper. Can I pull the speedfit out off one of the branches of the tee and put copper in it. Essentially re-using the fitting. Or would I be best off putting a speedfit socket on after the tee and going to copper from this?

Demounting an old fitting should be fine and replacing with copper fine also. No need for an insert if using copper.

Make sure the copper isn't burred preferably use a pipe slice so as not to snag the rubber o ring. Then same principle as above. Push, pull, screw. Job done.
