Are the speedfit pipes with push on fittings suitable for mains water pressure for plumbing in a shower and are they suitable for a loft space if lagged?
And a proper cutter to make the cuts so they are square and burr free.
I did my business premises in plastic (hep2O) in 1996 with combi boiler with mains pressure H&C and radiator based heating. he only copper was the first metre or so from the boiler. All with no problems so far. Currently doing an extension with Speedfix and finding it equally good. Cut on the marks and take time to make sure each joint is properly pushed home before moving to next. (DIYer not plumber)
Most plastic pipe systems need a strengthening insert pushed into the open pipe end to support the grip rings in the joint.
Sppedfit also has a O ring in their insert.
When the pipe is at 75C it becomes far less rigid and insertless joints will be going 'pop' all over your house. At mains pressure they will go pop very quickly, but usually just after you have replaced the floorboards and gone down the pub.
