Speedfit tap connector

Can anyone please confirm that this tap connector is suitable for connection to standard Speedfit pipe?

The blurb on the website states that it can 'Push straight onto copper tube'. Does that mean "only" copper or can it be used just as well on plastic?

Yes you can use it on plastic but you will need an insert.

If you wonder what insert to use, this is from the speed fit website

"Two types of pipe inserts are available; Standard and Superseal. The Superseal insert contains two 'o' rings to provide even greater sealing security. Both types of inserts are suitable for JG Speedfit hot and cold water and heating systems. An insert is always necessary when using Speedfit pipe."

In case you also want to connect the speed fit pipe to a copper compression fitting it goes on to say

"However, should an installation be required using a compression fitting, a TSM standard insert must be used."

For avoidance of doubt the TSM is NOT for the connector you have asked about
