I installed a self install split air conditioning unit a couple of years ago.

This has been great but i now have to move it due to a loft conversion.

If am right i cannot just unplug the unit as some gas will escape and this release of gas is deamed illegal, i think?

Does any on know a ball park figure of how much it would be to get someone to decommision the unit by pumping all the gas out?

Also on a repeat visit how much it maight be to recharge the system?

I can move it its just the specialist gas which is a problem.

Any help would be greatly appricated.

I seem to remember reading that you can just unplug it and the gas will remain in the system. But I wondered about this, because on delivery all the gas is stored within the outdoor unit.

Best contact the manufacturer. A reputable refrigeration company may well not want to work on DIY systems - they are normally of poorer quality to the commercial ones they use.

Thanks Steve
Thats interesting i will do some research on this, certainly if this is the case then it solves my issue.
