In the late 1970's I read a few books on pricing MEANS was one of the best but I found Time and material works best rather then contract pricing

I bought a copy of spons, read through it and when Isaw they allow in the order of a minute and a half for a joint I threw it away. A total waste of money unless you sit in a chair all day working out schedules for some poor sucker to work to.

If you're pricing new 500K projects for local councils their rates are a good basis to start from. Also their rough guides at the front are good for budgeting.

For small refit works under 50K their main books are a waste of time.
