Hi all,

I am a novice when it comes to DIY so apologies if this is a really easy question.

I have a few spotlights in my lounge, but one of them is hanging loose. Is there anything I can buy that will stick it back up? I was looking at a few things but wasn't sure about the heat from the spotlight causing any damage.

Thanks in advance

The downlight will be fitted with spring fixings, that secure the fitting to the ceiling. It maybe with a little bit of adjustment that you can get the fitting to sit back in. Push back up and a slight turn of fitting, if the springs are catching any obstruction near the fitting or the fitting components are, they will not grip right.
But looking at you picture, I can not see any evidence of the springs, can you confirm if there is a canister like fitting within the hole or not?

Don't 'stick' it back. No one will be able to access it.

As said, check the spring clips.

As well as obstructions as mentioned, one or two spring clips could be missing, or installed to the main fitting incorrectly.

If in doubt, turn the power off, and drop the fitting down, and take a photo or two.
