I have had spotlights installed in my bedroom ceiling but have noticed there is no safety in the loft with regards to the loft insulation and the heat the spots give off?

The insulation has just been pulled away from the place they have been cut into.

Should there be smething over the spot in the loft?

Or am I worrying for nothing?

Thats cool thats the thread that made me ask my question.

Just wanted to know if there is a risk of fire. Do I need a hood for the spotlights?

Fire hoods and fire rated fittings are only required when installing fittings between separate fire compartments.
You shouldn't place insulation directly over a downlighter unless it's rated for it. Some are, most aren't.
