I'm looking to add some spurs to my existing ring circuit and am following part P.

It looks like the previous owner converted a socket on the ring to a switched FCU, then ran a spur from that FCU to a double socket.

I want to convert the FCU back to a double socket, and run a spur from that. Anyone think of a reason why this is a bad idea?

OOI, what do you mean?

Provided the FCU is on the ring, and not a spur, and provided the cable to the spur socket is 2.5mm², and provided there will be just the one socket on the spur, no.

I've no idea what the previous owners were thinking. Perhaps they wanted the socket moved over just a foot and couldn't do this without breaking regs (ie. wiring diagonally).

So, they added a switch where the old socket was and then ran a short spur from there to the desired new location.
