I would like to know if it is permissible to connect 2.5 cable to exixting outlets already used for power sockets and run just one socket from it to run a freezer.Do I have to run a completely new curcuit breaker if there is a spare if l cant do the above.
It is possible as long as you are competant ie
- Know that the existing socket is on the ring circuit and is not already a spur ( or a wrongly connected spur off a spur)
-Or know that the existing socket is part of a correctly protected radial circuit
-Know about the use of RCDs for installation of socket circuits
-Know if the circuit can handle any additional proposed load
-Know about Part P of The Building Regulations and it's application
