Hi, Can anyone tell me, can you run more than one spur from the same junction box on a ring?

it can be done, but its best to use a second JB. they also have to be somewhere accessable

Thanks, Is there a particular reason for this? Surely the total load on the circuit would not change wherever the spur was from?

You want the load on a ring to be distributed uniformly around it - if it was all at one end, for example, then the curret sharing would not be 50:50, and you could overload the wiring on the shorter side. In practice its not that serious, but it was what the reg writers were thinking of with the unfused spur rules..
