Hi,
I have an old Maxol homewarm 600 boiler (10 yrs old I guess) which works fine appart from overheating the rads now and again, but on top of that it make one hell of a noise just shortly after it comes on. Not sure if it is the heat exchanger touching on something when expanding or is just the fan touching some other metal parts.
Is there any way of disconnecting the fan for a short period of time to prove it is the fan?
If I have to replace the boiler I wouldn't want to get a combi, because of all the extra pipe work that needs doing. What is the best replacement for an old boiler like that and is it worth it since these are not manufactured anymore?
cheers
