squeaky floorboards

Hi all,

I’m having issues with creaking/squeaky floorboards around the house and getting new carpets fitted soon so want to get this sorted.

I have already used spax screws and a light mix of pva glue but some parts of the house are still the same.

What else can I do please?

What size screws?, I used 5 x50mm spax through 19mm pine board and that held them down, but still had to cut some floorboards into smaller lengths because they were was a leverage effect on some of the joists which caused squeaking. I didn't glue because they might need lifting in the future.
