A lot of the time, the squeaks are mainly caused by the boards of what ever material sliding up and down the nail fixings them selves. Try using screws to solve the problem but watch those dreaded electrical and plumbing stuff under ur boards.

if you are going to use screws pull nails out, instant pilot holes for screws , no cables / pipes in the way
