Ssssssshhhhhh, don't mention Reform.

well they have a right to cross borders to claim asylum, so they are playing the system to achieve that (ignoring the fact the muppet Tory govt tried to make it illegal to claim asylum in UK)
Doesn't seem good does it, paying traffickers to cross the channel, then lying to rescuers that they are in distress, It all seems pretty much a premeditated crime to begin with rather than a genuine plea for help.

thats what you are claiming

you are claiming small boats are in distress when in French waters so an English vessel pick them up

and you are simultaneously claiming if they are in British waters they can be pushed back
nope

they have no such right

no they cant

they cant push back in French waters without permission

so they would have to wait until they are in British waters, at which point the people on the boat can claim they are in distress
They can prevent them from entering UK waters, at that point they remain in French waters.

just because they need to use smugglers and maybe lie about being in distress doesnt mean they arent genuine asylum seekers

oh so now we have dozens of random British vessels all lingering in French waters waiting to "rescue" migrants in small boats :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
No they are on passage. If someone raises the alarm that a vessel is in distress they must assist. It's all clearly stated in SOLAS and UNCLOS.

Did you think the channel was mostly empty? it isn't

how can Border force determine whether its French or English waters, theres not a fence

Id like to see a British government try and argue whether a boat was in french or English waters

it is clearly stated in UNCLOS 19 British vessels have no right to drop migrants back in France

UNCLOS A19 g

"the unloading of any person contrary to the customs, immigration and regulations of the coastal state"

:LOL::LOL::LOL:

There is a funny thing called a chart (its a bit like a map) and another funny thing called a GPS chart plotter (basically satnav for boats). It's like magic, you can use the two to plot exactly where you are and the chart will show exactly where the border is. It is no different to a land border.

you have been claiming that for 40 odd pages
no I have said they can be prevented from entering UK waters. I have not said a vessel in distress in UK waters can be taken back to France.

please tell me what happens to a person that arrives in the UK and claims asylum
Until they claim asylum they are illegals and can be prosecuted for their immigration offences.

ONCE they claim asylum and if their claim is approved, they have a limited right not to be prosecuted for some of the immigration offences.

gps has an accuracy of 10 to 25 metres plus or minus

so there is no way to determine if a boat is in French or British waters with

your latest dumb argument that a British boat can stay EXACTLY on the border of English water whilst pushing back a boat to stop it leaving French water :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

you have been repeatedly saying English vessels can go into French water and pick up a small boat in distress

and you have been repeatedly saying an English vessel can push back a small boat that is in or tries to enter British waters.
