Hi all,
This is a cob wall. A leaking gutter outside has caused damp to seep into the wall. Over the summer the wall has been drying out nicely (and the gutter is now fixed!). The surface of the wall was very powder/chalky. I scraped it all off. I then used white silicate paint. The stains are showing through, so I put on another really thick coat, but the stains are coming through again, almost immediatly.
I dont want to put a coat of stain blocker on becuase I need the wall to breathe.
What is the stain? Why does it keep reappearing? And how do I prevent it from showing again?
Thanks
