Hello..

I am looking at replacing my loft staircase but have a question about risers.

It will have a dual winder and I intend to have a rise of 200mm but on the straight stairs can i increase the rise to 220mm.

I understand if you have a landing you can change the height of the risers, but I guess a winder wouldn't act as a landing?

Thanks

Every rise in the flight must be identical. Only when two flights are separated by a proper landing can you vary the risers.

I'm getting deja vu ......

why can't you just divide the F2F height over the number of risers, what problems are you encountering that make you want to do this.
But no you can't and 20mm would be a massively noticeable amount

Just limited head height from where I want to start the stairs.

Another question I have is..

Door frames that are not complete..
Please see picture.

How much can one loose assuming its a standard door?

Thanks

How limited? You are only looking at a saving of 60cm over the width of the winder box, less in reality once you've divided it all out. You may be able to get some dispensation. What's the minimum head height over your existing staircase.
