I want to take the wall out that runs under the stair string IE where the cupboard is to knock out the under stairs area, I've assumed the stairs should be self supporting on one side as long as there is support for the top and bottom. It's a blockwork wall. Anyone with any experience of this, I've not seen a staircase where both sides need supporting but could well be wrong!
Cheers

As long as there's no turn at the top of the stairs, then it should be supported at the top, and resting on the floor at the bottom, and it'll be tied in to the side wall.

It should just be a stud wall under the stair, and if it is, just remove it carefully.

Yeah it's a straight staircase, but the wall underneath is block. I'll have a closer look when I've got the floor up, cheers for the reply
