stairs general question

hello today we lay carpet on stair hallway part then i say that the stair we fix it it creaks badly so i fix it i put a screw and nail both and i used my new drill it is dewalt and now stair not creaking . but i thought how is stairs constructed in my house as i have behind stair is the storeroom so could someone prvoide maybe a diagram invor or explanation of how stairs are built or maybe some document of building stairs and floors etc and how they build it? im not sure if this website is for general info maybe only for questions on somethign but i want to make me know about it as owning house as owner hard as responsbility is mine

Depends on age.
Older stairs were built on site with hammer and nails.
Later screws were used.

Mine where made in 2007 and machined so lock together with glue and wood blocks.
No screws or nails
 
A staircase is made up from these three main components.

Stringer.
Tread.
Riser.

Nothing fancy about how it's installed. The stringers are held by the wall(s) and supported by a joist or a course of couple bricks from below.
