Hi folks
we are just about to embark on knocking our Devon terrace about
basically we are looking to turn downstairs into bedrooms as rooms are small and darker/colder due to being set into hillside
upstairs we plan to remove interior walls to have a central open plan stair leading to kitchen with french windows out to decking , living room
we are considering taking off the plaster board on upstairs and leaving in the studwork
give a shabby chic feel to things which would be in keeping with the nature of the building
has anyone any experience of doing or seeing this done?
i can't seem to find any pictorial references online
any heads up with potential issues, electrics ect?
best regards
JJP

If planning on open plan including a kitchen area upstairs it is possible that you may need to keep a door to separate the open plan room separate from the stairs, minimum window sizes and natural ventilation are required for bedrooms, you're post is pretty vague tbh. Doing this to Building Regs? (advisable tbh)

hi thanks for the reply
windows are not an issue downstairs
might be best to post some pix
the way i envisage it is with the stairs coming into the 1st floor centrally...as i say will update with pix tomorrow
cheers
JJ
